You Want Me To What?

    The first time I changed a diaper was an experience I will never forget.      I was twelve years old, and I had volunteered for my church's nursery, one Sunday morning. I couldn't believe it! A room full of babies and toddlers under the age of two years old. What luck! I was so stoked that morning, as I got dressed and ready for church. This was the beginning of the rest of my life!      I chatted non-stop on the way to the service, as I always do when I'm excited. Inside the building, I made my way to the nursery, where I was greeted by a lady named, Carol. She took me into the main room where there was already ten or so babies,  playing with toys. I introduced myself to the other volunteers, then sat myself down to play with the little ones.      All was going well. Then, Carol handed me a baby boy, and said, "Could you please change his diaper?"       Wait...

Why Do I Love Kids?

     Why do I love kids? That's simple for me to answer. I love children, because they are so honest, and full of innocence. They also have huge imaginations, which being a writer, I love.        You know the old saying, "Kids say the darndest things?" Well, I have learned in the past twenty-seven years of babysitting, that this statement is so very true!         In this blog, I would like to go back in time and share some of my most happiest memories of the little ones I cared for. Names will be changed,  of course, as most of these kids are now adults, and would probably be embarrassed if they read what they did and said as children!         I babysat many children as a teenager and young adult, and am now currently looking after a five year old girl. I'm not as young and energetic as I once was, but I have found that I still love to play with kids....
